Voltage Auto Transformer (VARIAC)

“PSI” makes continuously Variable Voltage Auto Transformer (VARIAC), having a movable carbon tip fixed to a brush-arm sliding on a silver plated commutator. Rotation of the brush-arm by either manual or motor drive delivers an output voltage from zero to or above line voltage.

“PSI” Variacs has been carefully designed. No special care has to be taken to maintain Variac Auto transformers in normal environment. The only components needing inspection and maintenance are the carbon tips and the commutator. Timely replacement of carbon tips and cleaning of the commutator surface of foreign particles and accumulated dust will ensure a considerably long maintenance-free and on uninterrupted life of the unit. Normally, variacs up to 28 AMPS are offered in air cooled or oil cooled construction and 40 AMPS and above are offered in oil cooled construction. In very special cases, 40 AMPS and above can also be offered in air cooled construction.

The above variacs are available in following ratings.
0.75 A, 1 A, 2 A, 3 A, 4 A, 5 A, 6 A, 8 A, 10 A, 15 A, 20 A, 28 A, 32 A, 40 A, 50 A, 60 A, 75 A & 100 A.
Higher ratings can be supplied upto 600 AMPS against specific requirements.
